Limit 2 sam.keator@frontier.com \n  \nIrish fiddle music with Randal Bays & Susan Waters\, with Clint Dye\, guitar \nRandal Bays is an American fiddler who’s well known on both sides of the Atlantic for his fiery fiddling and his devotion to the traditional Irish style of playing. He has a special love for the fiddle traditions of Counties Clare and Galway\, where he’s spent many a wild night playing tunes with the masters of that intricate music. Randal has recorded and toured in the US\, Ireland and Europe with such musicians as Martin Hayes\, James Kelly\, Daithí Sproule\, James Keane\, and many more. He’s performed and taught Irish fiddle at most of the major North American festivals and in 2021 he received the Irish Artist in America Achievement Award from O’Flaherty Irish Music in Texas. Randal lives in the Seattle area and is the Artistic Director of Cascadia Irish Music Week. “Randal Bays is one of the finest Irish fiddlers one could ever hope to hear.” – Fiddler Magazine Susan Waters is a native of Vermont\, where she grew up in the midst of a musical family\, immersed in the instrumental and song traditions of that part of the world. As a teen she traveled widely in Europe with various singing and dancing ensembles. She took up the fiddle in her 20s and soon developed a strong\, rhythmic style perfectly suited to the fiddle music of western Ireland. Susan met Randal in the late 90s and they’ve been playing tunes together ever since\, finding time along the way to get married and raise two sons\, both fine musicians themselves. Guitarist Clint Dye is a fairly recent addition to the Seattle Irish music community. His great musicality\, rhythm\, and style have made him very welcome in sessions and concerts around the Northwest. Clint got his start playing traditional Irish music by accompanying step dancers and singers in the Busch Gardens show Celtic Fyre in Williamsburg\, VA. During this time\, he began to cut his teeth in Irish music sessions and worked in small groups. He has appeared at numerous festivals and events on the east coast and since relocating to Seattle has worked with several local bands.

DESCRIPTION:Adam Hendey is a multi-instrumentalist\, vocalist\, and composer living in Boston\, Massachusetts. Known for his sense and skill as a sought-after accompanist in the city’s vibrant traditional music communities\, he is also a prolific teacher\, performer\, and producer. Adam is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland\, where he studied Traditional Music as a Master’s student\, and the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon\, where he finished with Bachelor’s degrees in Music and Philosophy. \n  \nEliot Grasso (uilleann pipes\, flute\, tin whistle)\, has taught\, performed\, and recorded throughout North America and Europe for over two decades and is a founding member of the Celtic ensemble Dréos. He has performed for President Clinton at the NEA Awards\, appeared as a featured artist on “Prairie Home Companion\,” performed and taught for the William Kennedy Piping Festival in Armagh\, and appeared as a soloist in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Scotland’s National Piping Festival\, Piping Live. Eliot has over a dozen recordings to his name\, including an album of unaccompanied uilleann piping\, which is volume 1 of Na Píobairí Uilleann’s series of master pipers\, The Ace and Deuce of Piping. Eliot holds a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Oregon\, and a M.A. in ethnomusicology from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. Grasso’s artistic and academic work as a performer\, recording artist\, composer\, and researcher has earned awards from the traditional music community\, the recording industry\, and the academic establishment. He teaches music at Gutenberg College in Eugene\, Oregon. A fuller picture of his endeavors is available at www.eliotgrasso.com. \n  \nIn 2023\, Eliot and Adam released Breathe Blue\, an introspective recording of Irish traditional music for tin whistle and guitar.
